R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans

 1-2     who have shared 50 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a

 1-3     memorable occasion worthy of special recognition; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, Robert and Annie Adams will have the privilege of

 1-5     commemorating such a momentous event in their lives when they

 1-6     celebrate their golden wedding anniversary on February 1, 1997, at

 1-7     a special party in the company of their family and many friends;

 1-8     and

 1-9           WHEREAS, United in matrimony in La Porte on February 5, 1947,

1-10     the couple have nurtured an enduring relationship that has grown in

1-11     love and mutual respect with each passing year and that has been

1-12     blessed with two children, Debbie and Louis; and

1-13           WHEREAS, Throughout the years, the Adamses have been active

1-14     members of their community; Mr. Adams is retired after a lengthy

1-15     career as a harbor pilot on the Houston Ship Channel, while his

1-16     lovely and gracious wife has devoted herself to providing a happy

1-17     and secure home life for their family; and

1-18           WHEREAS, Now deservedly reaping the many benefits of their

1-19     full life together, Mr. and Mrs. Adams find more time to enjoy

1-20     their favorite leisure activities, and they greatly treasure the

1-21     time they spend with their family, which has grown to include four

1-22     beloved grandchildren; and

1-23           WHEREAS, For a half-century, Robert and Annie Adams have

1-24     shared a strong and lasting marriage filled with many happy times

 2-1     and cherished family memories; built on a solid foundation of

 2-2     mutual love, trust, and support, their remarkable union has indeed

 2-3     been a source of joy and inspiration for the many friends and

 2-4     relatives of this fortunate pair; now, therefore, be it

 2-5           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-6     Legislature hereby congratulate Robert and Annie Adams on the

 2-7     occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them

 2-8     warmest best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further

 2-9           RESOLVED,   That an official copy of this resolution be

2-10     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Adams as an expression of high regard by

2-11     the Texas House of Representatives.
