                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to

 1-2     recognize the Physician of the Day program, which celebrates its

 1-3     25th anniversary this year; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Academy of Family Physicians

 1-5     travel from their homes and practices across the state each

 1-6     legislative session, generously volunteering their time and

 1-7     knowledge to serve the Texas Legislature and those active in the

 1-8     legislative process; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, Physicians of the Day perform a great service by

1-10     responding to medical emergencies, treating a wide variety of

1-11     ailments, and monitoring the health of those who, in attending to

1-12     their legislative duties, are far from their personal physicians;

1-13     and

1-14           WHEREAS, Each legislative session, countless individuals

1-15     receive excellent health care on the Capitol grounds by the

1-16     Physician of the Day, without having to take time away from their

1-17     work; now, therefore, be it

1-18           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-19     Legislature hereby commend those serving in the Physician of the

1-20     Day program and express gratitude to all those physicians, past and

1-21     present, who have contributed to the success of this vital program;

1-22     and, be it further

1-23           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

1-24     prepared for the Texas Academy of Family Physicians as an

 2-1     expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
