R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, January 31, 1997, marks National Appreciation Day
1-2 For Catholic Teachers, and this provides a most fitting occasion to
1-3 honor the teaching staff of St. Mary's Catholic School in Waco for
1-4 its remarkable service to the children of our state; and
1-5 WHEREAS, Since it was founded in 1947, the school has done an
1-6 outstanding job of meeting the educational needs of its community,
1-7 and today its 16 staff members and teachers serve as positive role
1-8 models to 156 students enrolled in the school's prekindergarten
1-9 through eighth-grade classes; and
1-10 WHEREAS, These dedicated professionals have helped and
1-11 encouraged countless young Texans to strive toward achieving their
1-12 highest potential, and their unwavering commitment will continue to
1-13 play a vital role in preparing the students of their community for
1-14 leadership roles well into the coming century; now, therefore, be
1-15 it
1-16 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas
1-17 Legislature hereby honor the many fine educators of St. Mary's
1-18 Catholic School and its principal, Sister Kenneth Reagan, on the
1-19 occasion of National Appreciation Day For Catholic Teachers and
1-20 extend to them our heartfelt gratitude for their remarkable efforts
1-21 in behalf of the youth of their community; and, be it further
1-22 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-23 prepared for prominent display at St. Mary's Catholic School as an
1-24 expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
