R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, Lorine Hargrove will celebrate her 99th birthday on

 1-2     February 14, 1997, and to her relatives and many friends, this

 1-3     event promises to be a truly joyous and memorable occasion; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, Mrs. Hargrove was born in Keller and during her

 1-5     youth, she moved with her family to the Fort Worth area, where she

 1-6     would meet and marry her beloved husband, Con Hargrove, with whom

 1-7     she would share a happy and rewarding marriage until his passing;

 1-8     although she had no children of her own, she has served as a loving

 1-9     role model to many young people through the years, and she has

1-10     enjoyed the close relationship she shares with her niece, Mary, and

1-11     her nephew, William; and

1-12           WHEREAS, Mrs. Hargrove is well known for her enthusiastic and

1-13     positive outlook and for more than two decades, she has been a

1-14     charter member of the Haltom City Senior Center, where she has held

1-15     many offices and currently volunteers at the front registration

1-16     desk and assists with the daily menu board; she devotes Thursday

1-17     evenings to the center's dance, collecting admission fees or

1-18     performing a spirited rendition of the Cotton Eyed Joe; and

1-19           WHEREAS, Throughout her lifetime, Lorine Hargrove has brought

1-20     much joy and happiness to the many people whose lives she has

1-21     touched; a deeply admired member of her community, she has earned

1-22     the special love and affection of all who are privileged to know

1-23     her; now, therefore, be it

1-24           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-1     Legislature hereby honor Lorine Hargrove and extend warmest

 2-2     congratulations to this lovely lady on the occasion of her 99th

 2-3     birthday; and, be it further

 2-4           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-5     prepared for Mrs. Hargrove as an expression of high regard by the

 2-6     Texas House of Representatives.
