                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The passing of Ruben Zamora on January 15, 1997, at

 1-2     the age of 71, has brought a great loss to the many friends and

 1-3     relatives of this distinguished Texan; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, He was born January 21, 1925, in Reynosa, Mexico,

 1-5     and was reared in the community of Penitas, Texas; when he was a

 1-6     young man, he married the lovely San Juanita Zamora and for 45

 1-7     years the couple enjoyed a deeply fulfilling union that was blessed

 1-8     with five children; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, A talented musician, Mr. Zamora could play the

1-10     violin, the piano, the guitar, and the accordion by ear, and he

1-11     often delighted his family and friends with his lovely musical

1-12     renditions; and

1-13           WHEREAS, He will also be remembered for his unwavering

1-14     commitment to his family, and his devotion to his wife and children

1-15     was an inspiration to countless individuals; and

1-16           WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, he was sustained by a deep and

1-17     abiding religious faith as a devout member of Our Lady of Guadalupe

1-18     Church in Mission, where he received all his sacraments and even

1-19     had a favorite bench at which he would wait for the priest's

1-20     blessing; and

1-21           WHEREAS, During his lifetime, Ruben Zamora touched the lives

1-22     of many people, and though his presence will be deeply missed, his

1-23     memory will surely endure in the hearts and minds of all who came

1-24     to know and love him; now, therefore, be it

 2-1           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-2     Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Ruben Zamora and

 2-3     extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his

 2-4     beloved wife, San Juanita Zamora; to his three sons, Jose Ruben

 2-5     Zamora, Jorge Luis Zamora, and Javier Mario Zamora; to his

 2-6     daughters, Carmen Rosario Anzaldua and Norma Elisa Bundy; and to

 2-7     the many other relatives and friends of this fine gentleman; and,

 2-8     be it further

 2-9           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-10     prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas

2-11     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of

2-12     Ruben Zamora.
