                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The passing of Dan Shull of Lindale on January 3,

 1-2     1997, at the age of 70, has brought a great loss to the many

 1-3     friends and relatives of this distinguished Texas businessman and

 1-4     civic leader; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, He was born November 26, 1926, in LeCompte,

 1-6     Louisiana, and like many of his generation, he proudly served his

 1-7     country during World War II as a member of the United States Navy;

 1-8     and

 1-9           WHEREAS, Mr. Shull resided in Euless before moving to Lindale

1-10     in 1978; he was highly regarded for his exceptional contributions

1-11     to both locales, and as the owner and operator of Shull Utility

1-12     Construction Company, he greatly enhanced the local economy; and

1-13           WHEREAS, He further served his community as an elected

1-14     official and represented his fellow citizens with integrity and

1-15     distinction as a member of the Euless City Council for two terms;

1-16     in all his endeavors, he was sustained by a deep and abiding faith

1-17     as a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Grand Prairie; and

1-18           WHEREAS, In addition to his outstanding accomplishments in

1-19     these areas, Dan Shull will be fondly remembered as a devoted

1-20     family member and a loyal friend who gave freely of his time and

1-21     talents to assist others, and his warmth, wisdom, and valued

 2-1     counsel will long endure in the hearts and minds of all who knew

 2-2     and loved him; now, therefore, be it

 2-3           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-4     Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Dan Shull and extend

 2-5     sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his beloved wife,

 2-6     Elizabeth Shull; to his sons, Gene Shull and Danny Shull; to his

 2-7     daughter, Virginia Becknell; to his sisters, Juanita Clifton and

 2-8     Maxine Tinsley; to his nine grandchildren; and to the many other

 2-9     relatives and friends of this eminent Texan; and, be it further

2-10           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-11     prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas

2-12     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of

2-13     Dan Shull.
