R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding

 1-2     individuals who have shared 65 happy and rewarding years of

 1-3     marriage is truly a memorable occasion worthy of special

 1-4     recognition; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, Sammie and Annie Jeffrey will commemorate one such

 1-6     notable event on March 9, 1997, when they will be joined by family

 1-7     and friends for a celebration of their 65 years of mutual affection

 1-8     and devotion; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, United in marriage on March 6, 1932, the Jeffreys

1-10     began their married life in Llano County, where Mr. Jeffrey

1-11     embarked on his long ranching career; they relocated to San Saba

1-12     County in 1947, and Mr. Jeffrey went to work as manager of the

1-13     26,000-acre Flying V Ranch; following his retirement from ranching

1-14     in 1976, the couple moved to Richland Springs; and

1-15           WHEREAS, Their enduring union has been blessed with two sons,

1-16     Paul and J. L., both of whom benefited from their parents'

1-17     unfailing love and patient guidance, and the welcome addition of

1-18     six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren has further enhanced

1-19     this close-knit family's happiness; and

1-20           WHEREAS, In addition to their commitment to family, the

1-21     Jeffreys also share an abiding faith as active members of the

1-22     Primitive Baptist Church; and

1-23           WHEREAS, For 65 years Sammie and Annie Jeffrey have shared a

1-24     strong and lasting marriage filled with many joyful times and

 2-1     cherished family memories; their relationship is a continuing

 2-2     source of pride and inspiration to all who have had the pleasure of

 2-3     knowing them, and it is indeed appropriate that they be given

 2-4     special legislative recognition at this time; now, therefore, be it

 2-5           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-6     Legislature hereby congratulate Sammie and Annie Jeffrey on the

 2-7     occasion of their 65th wedding anniversary; and, be it further

 2-8           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-9     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey as an expression of high regard

2-10     by the Texas House of Representatives.
