R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, On February 5, 1997, the Honorable Ismael "Kino"

 1-2     Flores and his wife, Debra Garcia Flores, will celebrate their 20th

 1-3     wedding anniversary, and we join their family and many friends in

 1-4     marking this noteworthy milestone in their life together; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Flores first fell in love as high

 1-6     school sweethearts in their hometown of La Joya, where Mr. Flores

 1-7     was an athlete of note and Mrs. Flores a featured twirler with the

 1-8     marching band, and the warm affection and mutual respect that

 1-9     characterized their relationship then have grown greater with each

1-10     passing year; and

1-11           WHEREAS, United in marriage in La Joya on February 5, 1977,

1-12     they set about the worthwhile work of building a home together, and

1-13     although they have endured some difficult times, their greatest

1-14     source of pride and joy remains their loving and close-knit family,

1-15     and in particular their sons, Ismael, Jr., and Eric; and

1-16           WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. and Mrs. Flores have drawn

1-17     strength and inspiration from one another, and Mr. Flores's

1-18     distinguished career of public service in the United States Army

1-19     and the Texas House of Representatives would not have been possible

1-20     without the love and support of his wife; and

1-21           WHEREAS, An anniversary celebration is both a time to

1-22     commemorate the past and a time to welcome the future, and even as

1-23     Kino and Debra Flores can take great satisfaction in their 20 years

1-24     together, so can they look forward to many more years of a

 2-1     relationship that continues to grow and flourish; now, therefore,

 2-2     be it

 2-3           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-4     Legislature hereby congratulate the Honorable Ismael "Kino" Flores

 2-5     and Debra Garcia Flores on the occasion of their 20th wedding

 2-6     anniversary and extend to them warmest best wishes for continued

 2-7     success and happiness in the years to come; and, be it further

 2-8           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-9     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Flores as an expression of high regard by

2-10     his colleagues in the Texas House of Representatives.
