R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, On February 11, 1997, the members of the Crowley

 1-2     Area Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the organization's 25th

 1-3     anniversary, and this historic milestone is truly worthy of special

 1-4     praise and recognition; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, Founded in 1972, the chamber originally included 30

 1-6     members, including its first charter member, Mayor Harry Teeter,

 1-7     and its inaugural officers and directors: James R.  Baumgardner,

 1-8     president; James Edson, first vice president; Joe Crouch, second

 1-9     vice president; Larry Smith, secretary-treasurer; and Jack Hillis,

1-10     Jr., manager; and

1-11           WHEREAS, In the years since, the members of the Crowley Area

1-12     Chamber of Commerce have admirably pursued their goals of

1-13     supporting the local business community and creating new

1-14     opportunities for growth, and they eagerly look forward to their

1-15     next 25 years serving the Crowley area; now, therefore, be it

1-16           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-17     Legislature hereby congratulate the Crowley Area Chamber of

1-18     Commerce on its 25th anniversary and extend to its members sincere

1-19     best wishes for continued success in the future; and, be it further

1-20           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

1-21     prepared for the Crowley Area Chamber of Commerce as an expression

1-22     of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
