R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, From February 10 through February 19, 1997, the 1-2 Kilgore College Rangerettes drill team will be featured performers 1-3 at Singapore's Chinese New Year celebration, and this singular 1-4 honor is indeed worthy of special praise and recognition; and 1-5 WHEREAS, The Chinese New Year is traditionally an occasion 1-6 for great revelry and spectacular entertainment, and Singapore's 1-7 observation of this holiday will be no exception; performers from 1-8 more than 20 countries will appear, and of these the 1-9 internationally recognized Rangerettes will be the sole North 1-10 American representatives; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Known as the world's most accomplished precision 1-12 drill team, the Kilgore College Rangerettes have thrilled and 1-13 delighted audiences around the world, and their appearances in the 1-14 Singapore Indoor Stadium and the Chingay Processional will be seen 1-15 by millions of appreciative spectators, both in person and on 1-16 television; and 1-17 WHEREAS, During their visit to Singapore, the Rangerettes 1-18 will also perform at a number of colleges and high schools, where 1-19 they will meet with local students, and Texans could ask for no 1-20 finer goodwill ambassadors than these talented and vivacious young 1-21 women, including Marsha Andrus, Lisa Braddock, Julie Bridger, Julie 1-22 Christian, April Ann Cotten, Erin Cummings, Farrah Dailey, Bree 1-23 Dodd, Heather Drake, Gloria Duncan, Jennifer Eubanks, Jacquelyn 1-24 Farar, Jennifer Faust, Monica Goffney, Kim Gwin, Melody Gwin, Carla 2-1 Kerzee, Holly Nicholas, Ashlie Pettit, Shelly Pizanie, Teresa 2-2 Rodriguez, Rebecca Rose, Jennifer Rouse, Joni Sablatura, Amy 2-3 Scoltz, Amy Selden, Amanda Simpson, Alice Staudt, Gina Taylor, 2-4 Danielle Thacker, Candice Ward, Sara Weems, Kelly Wilson, Melissa 2-5 Amaya, Breah Brown, Erica Campbell, Kelly Cunningham, Christina 2-6 Custer, Rachel Dreyfus, Jayne Encarnacion, Tiffany Engelking, 2-7 Lauren Eppler, Becky Faust, Christina Flores, Tarlesia Fontenot, 2-8 Michelle Gordon, Hilary Haglund, Christy Hubnik, Natalie Jenion, 2-9 Lizabeth Jones, Amy King, Amy Koenig, Kari Kubiak, Stacy Lawrence, 2-10 Kelly Mayfield, Heather McFarlin, Natalie Neumann, Christie 2-11 Parchman, Laura Persohn, Jennifer Preston, Claire Raney, Desiree 2-12 Reese, Lina Rios, Karyn Smith, Amy Vidos, Kelli Whitton, and Kandy 2-13 Winters; now, therefore, be it 2-14 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-15 Legislature hereby honor the Kilgore College Rangerettes on the 2-16 occasion of their performance at Singapore's Chinese New Year 2-17 celebration and extend to them warmest best wishes for continued 2-18 success in the years to come; and, be it further 2-19 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-20 prepared for the Kilgore College Rangerettes as an expression of 2-21 high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
