R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 a group of fourth-grade and fifth-grade students from Dessau 1-3 Elementary School who are visiting the State Capitol today to learn 1-4 more about their state's history and the governmental process; and 1-5 WHEREAS, These bright young Texans are from the classes of 1-6 Mrs. Coppedge, Mrs. Eeds, and Mrs. Drozd, who are teachers with the 1-7 Pflugerville Independent School District, and the students' 1-8 much-anticipated outing was coordinated by Doris Higgs; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Many of the students in this group created festive 1-10 holiday artwork that brightened the corridors of the Capitol for 1-11 visitors and state workers during the Christmas season, and their 1-12 visit to the halls that held their creations will indeed be a 1-13 special occasion; and 1-14 WHEREAS, The children of Texas are our state's most valuable 1-15 resource, and by fostering in tomorrow's leaders an interest in 1-16 state government and the legislative process, our schools are 1-17 performing a service that is truly worthy of special legislative 1-18 recognition; now, therefore, be it 1-19 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 1-20 Legislature hereby extend a warm welcome to the fourth-grade and 1-21 fifth-grade students of Dessau Elementary School on the occasion of 1-22 their visit to the State Capitol; and, be it further 1-23 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 1-24 prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the 2-1 Texas House of Representatives.
