R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas Legislative Black Caucus has played a

 1-2     vital role in state government and lawmaking by serving as a voice

 1-3     to articulate concerns of importance to the state's

 1-4     African-American community; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, The caucus has requested the use of the house

 1-6     chamber on March 21, 1997, to discuss issues pending before the

 1-7     current legislature; and

 1-8           WHEREAS, It is appropriate that the Texas House of

 1-9     Representatives lend its support to the Texas Legislative Black

1-10     Caucus in this manner to help further the caucus's vital work in

1-11     behalf of the State of Texas; now, therefore, be it

1-12           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-13     Legislature, in accordance with house rules and with the policies

1-14     and procedures of the House Administration Committee, hereby grant

1-15     permission to the Texas Legislative Black Caucus to use the house

1-16     chamber in the State Capitol on March 21, 1997, provided that the

1-17     house of representatives is not in session on that date.
