R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to 1-2 welcome the members of Boy Scout Troop 241 in Mt. Enterprise to the 1-3 State Capitol today; and 1-4 WHEREAS, On the heels of Governor George W. Bush's State of 1-5 the State address, and with the 75th Legislative Session underway, 1-6 the Capitol is abuzz with activity and offers these enthusiastic 1-7 young people a chance to see their state government functioning at 1-8 its dynamic best; and 1-9 WHEREAS, To aid in their acquisition of the coveted 1-10 Citizenship in the Nation merit badge, the scouts will have the 1-11 opportunity to avail themselves of the Capitol Complex's superb 1-12 educational resources; the outstanding collection of art and 1-13 documentation housed in this celebrated edifice provides an 1-14 exceptional source of information for those interested in the role 1-15 of our state government and the chronicles of our great state; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Members of Boy Scout Troop 241 include Louie Maher, 1-17 Paul Langston, Derrick Stein, Lynn Lee, Robbie Ecke, Ryan Furlow, 1-18 Chris Whitlow, Will Hamilton, Matthew Langston, and Jeremiah Lee; 1-19 these fine young men have previously quenched their thirst for 1-20 historical knowledge with trips to such varied locations as San 1-21 Jacinto, Texas; Shiloh, Tennessee; and Vicksburg, Mississippi; and 1-22 WHEREAS, The historic Capitol, with its impressive rotunda 1-23 and distinctive pink granite facade, is an ideal setting for young 1-24 and old alike to discover the rich heritage that is Texas and to 2-1 gain insight into the workings of our state legislature, and the 2-2 members of this chamber are pleased to commemorate this worthwhile 2-3 visit; now, therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-5 Legislature hereby welcome the members of Boy Scout Troop 241 and 2-6 encourage them to embrace the long and fascinating history of the 2-7 Lone Star State and to continue in their quest toward achieving a 2-8 better understanding of the important role our state's government 2-9 plays in the lives of all Texans; and, be it further 2-10 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-11 prepared for Troop 241 as an expression of high regard by the Texas 2-12 House of Representatives.
