No. 117 75R5486 JHS-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Cody Newman has completed the requirements and 1-2 mastered the many skills necessary to attain the rank of Eagle 1-3 Scout, and this exceptional feat is indeed deserving of special 1-4 legislative recognition; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Newman is a valued member of Troop 444 1-6 in China Spring, and he has earned the respect and admiration of 1-7 his fellow scouts through his strong commitment to scouting's 1-8 ideals; his dedication to these worthy principles has been noted by 1-9 his troop leader, Rob Carr, and will no doubt inspire other members 1-10 of his troop to aspire to the rank of Eagle Scout as well; and 1-11 WHEREAS, A student at China Spring High School, Mr. Newman 1-12 continually demonstrates the many important skills he has learned 1-13 from scouting in his pursuit of academic achievement; this 1-14 dedicated student sets a winning example for his peers and is 1-15 highly thought of by the faculty and staff; and 1-16 WHEREAS, For his Eagle Scout project, this hardworking young 1-17 man devoted many hours of his free time to repainting the interior 1-18 of the China Spring Volunteer Fire Department; by seeking out an 1-19 essential volunteer service such as this, Mr. Newman has 1-20 demonstrated how community organizations can work together in 1-21 support of one another and has highlighted the beneficial effects 1-22 of this type of collaboration; and 1-23 WHEREAS, This remarkable young man is a constant source of 1-24 pride to his family, particularly to his father, Bill, and on 2-1 February 15, 1997, he will be joined by friends and fellow scouts 2-2 at China Spring United Methodist Church for his Eagle Court of 2-3 Honor; Mr. Newman's hard work and dedication are to be commended, 2-4 and it is a privilege to join in honoring him on this significant 2-5 occasion; now, therefore, be it 2-6 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-7 Legislature hereby congratulate Cody Newman on attaining the rank 2-8 of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued 2-9 success and happiness in the years to come; and, be it further 2-10 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-11 prepared for Mr. Newman as an expression of high regard by the 2-12 Texas House of Representatives.
