No. 122 75R5681 WMS-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding 1-2 individuals who have shared 50 happy and rewarding years of 1-3 marriage is truly a memorable occasion worthy of special 1-4 recognition; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Irvin and Sarah Jackson commemorated one such golden 1-6 event in their lives on February 8, 1997, when they were joined by 1-7 family and friends at the First United Methodist Church of Bedford 1-8 for a joyous celebration of their 50 years of mutual affection and 1-9 devotion; hosting the event were the couple's children and their 1-10 spouses, Richard and Diana Jackson and Norma and Jerry Spruce, as 1-11 well as their eight grandchildren; and 1-12 WHEREAS, United in marriage on February 6, 1947, in Seminole, 1-13 Texas, the Jacksons have enjoyed an enduring relationship that has 1-14 continued to grow in love, respect, and regard for each other with 1-15 each passing year; and 1-16 WHEREAS, A veteran of World War II, Mr. Jackson received the 1-17 Purple Heart for his service in Burma and India, and, on completing 1-18 his military career, he applied his considerable entrepreneurial 1-19 skills as president and owner of Jacques Mobile Home Service; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Mrs. Jackson has not only maintained the couple's 1-21 lovely home in White Settlement throughout their marriage, but has 1-22 also worked outside the home, having helped to enlighten countless 1-23 young minds for 41 years as a teacher with the White Settlement 1-24 Independent School District; and 2-1 WHEREAS, The Jacksons share their faith as active members of 2-2 the First United Methodist Church, and they are also associated 2-3 with the Truckstop Ministries, Inc., and Campers for Christ; and 2-4 WHEREAS, For half a century, Irvin and Sarah Jackson have 2-5 shared a strong and lasting marriage filled with many joyful times 2-6 and cherished family memories; their relationship is a continuing 2-7 source of pride and inspiration to all who know them, and it is 2-8 indeed appropriate that they be given special legislative 2-9 recognition at this time; now, therefore, be it 2-10 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-11 Legislature hereby congratulate Irvin and Sarah Jackson on the 2-12 momentous occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to 2-13 them sincere best wishes for continued happiness in the years to 2-14 come; and, be it further 2-15 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-16 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Jackson as an expression of high regard 2-17 by the Texas House of Representatives.
