                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans

 1-2     who have shared 10 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a

 1-3     memorable occasion worthy of special recognition; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, Our esteemed colleague, the Honorable Sue Palmer,

 1-5     and her husband, Duke Palmer, will soon commemorate one such

 1-6     special day when they celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary on

 1-7     Valentine's Day, February 14, 1997; and

 1-8           WHEREAS, The Palmers were united in marriage a decade ago in

 1-9     a ceremony at Old City Park in Dallas; the couple's choice of

1-10     Valentine's Day is indicative of their romantic nature, and each

1-11     annual celebration of this holiday offers the perfect opportunity

1-12     for them to renew their vows of devotion; and

1-13           WHEREAS, Representative Palmer, the owner of Lucky Lady Oil,

1-14     surely counts the day she met her future husband as one of her most

1-15     fortunate, and certainly Mr. Palmer, the owner of Duke Petroleum,

1-16     struck it rich on the day he encountered his future bride; and

1-17           WHEREAS, Today, the Palmers' family includes five children,

1-18     five grandchildren, two cats, and a golden retriever, and their

1-19     decade of marriage has been blessed with many happy times and

1-20     cherished family memories; and

1-21           WHEREAS, What initially sprang from a business association

1-22     has since blossomed into a loving relationship based on mutual

1-23     respect and support, and the Palmers' union has indeed been a

1-24     source of inspiration and pride for their family and many friends;

 2-1     now, therefore, be it

 2-2           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-3     Legislature hereby congratulate Representative Sue Palmer and

 2-4     Mr. Duke Palmer on the joyous occasion of their 10th wedding

 2-5     anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued

 2-6     success and happiness in the years to come; and, be it further

 2-7           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-8     prepared for the Palmers as an expression of high regard by the

 2-9     Texas House of Representatives.
