R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans

 1-2     who have shared 50 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a

 1-3     memorable occasion worthy of honor and praise; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, J. R. and Dorothy Pearson recently had the privilege

 1-5     of commemorating such a momentous event in their lives when they

 1-6     celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on January 11, 1997,

 1-7     with a festive reception at the Pottsboro Church of Christ

 1-8     fellowship hall; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, United in matrimony five decades ago, Mr. and

1-10     Mrs. Pearson have nurtured a deeply fulfilling relationship that

1-11     has grown in love and understanding with each passing year and that

1-12     has been blessed with two children, Charles and Brenda; and

1-13           WHEREAS, Mr. Pearson is now retired from a distinguished

1-14     career that encompassed employment with Stafford Construction and

1-15     North Texas Construction, and Mrs. Pearson has retired from her

1-16     position with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company; the couple have

1-17     been vital and valued members of the Willow Springs area of

1-18     Pottsboro for the past 45 years, and their newfound leisure affords

1-19     them greater opportunities to spend time with their two

1-20     grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and

1-21           WHEREAS, For half a century, J. R. and Dorothy Pearson have

1-22     enjoyed a rewarding marriage filled with many happy times and

1-23     cherished family memories; their life together has been an

1-24     inspiration to their family and many friends, and they are indeed

 2-1     deserving of special recognition at this time; now, therefore, be

 2-2     it

 2-3           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-4     Legislature hereby honor J. R. and Dorothy Pearson on the occasion

 2-5     of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them warmest best

 2-6     wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further

 2-7           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-8     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Pearson as an expression of high regard

 2-9     by the Texas House of Representatives.
