R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans

 1-2     who have shared 65 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a

 1-3     memorable occasion worthy of honor and praise; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, Van and Louise Reynolds recently had the privilege

 1-5     of commemorating such a momentous event in their lives when they

 1-6     celebrated their wedding anniversary on January 19, 1997; and

 1-7           WHEREAS, United in matrimony on January 19, 1932, in Madill,

 1-8     Oklahoma, Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds have nurtured a fulfilling

 1-9     relationship that has grown in love and understanding with each

1-10     passing year and that has been blessed with two sons, Richard

1-11     Reynolds and Gary Reynolds; and

1-12           WHEREAS, In recent years, their family has grown to include

1-13     their daughters-in-law, four grandchildren and their spouses, and

1-14     six great-grandchildren, and despite all these changes, Mr. and

1-15     Mrs. Reynolds still look forward to each day with the same romance

1-16     and enthusiasm that first sparked their relationship more than six

1-17     decades ago; and

1-18           WHEREAS, For well over half a century, Van and Louise

1-19     Reynolds have enjoyed a deeply rewarding marriage filled with many

1-20     happy times and cherished family memories; their life together has

1-21     been an inspiration to their family and many friends, and they are

1-22     indeed  deserving of special recognition at this time; now,

1-23     therefore, be it

1-24           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-1     Legislature hereby honor Van and Louise Reynolds on the occasion of

 2-2     their 65th wedding anniversary and extend to them warmest best

 2-3     wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further

 2-4           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-5     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds as an expression of high regard

 2-6     by the Texas House of Representatives.
