R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans

 1-2     who have shared 50 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a

 1-3     memorable occasion worthy of honor and praise; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, Bob and Jane Kilcrease of Lake Kiowa had the

 1-5     privilege of commemorating such a momentous event in their lives

 1-6     when they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on December

 1-7     22, 1996, with a reception hosted by their children and

 1-8     Mrs. Kilcrease's mother, Virginia Melugin; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, A proud veteran of World War II, Mr. Kilcrease

1-10     served his country overseas in the United States Army Tank

1-11     Division, stationed in Japan; he received an agricultural

1-12     engineering degree from Texas A&M University, while his lovely wife

1-13     completed her education at North Texas State University and the

1-14     University of Arizona, earning a master's degree in elementary

1-15     education; and

1-16           WHEREAS,  Their marriage has been blessed with two sons, Jim

1-17     Kilcrease and Robin Kilcrease, and in recent years, their family

1-18     has grown to include their daughters-in-law, Janet Kilcrease and

1-19     Rosa Kilcrease, and grandchildren, Kendall Kilcrease Goff and her

1-20     husband, John Goff, and Chad Kilcrease; and

1-21           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Kilcrease are both enjoying a

1-22     well-deserved retirement after Mr. Kilcrease's distinguished

1-23     25-year tenure with the United States Department of Agriculture and

1-24     Mrs. Kilcrease's rewarding career as an educator; they have

 2-1     remained active in their community through Mr. Kilcrease's

 2-2     involvement with the Lake Kiowa Property Owners Association and

 2-3     Mrs. Kilcrease's work with the Cooke County Hospice Auxiliary and

 2-4     Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority; and

 2-5           WHEREAS, For half a century, Bob and Jane Kilcrease have

 2-6     enjoyed a deeply fulfilling marriage filled with many happy times

 2-7     and cherished family memories; their life together has been an

 2-8     inspiration to their family and many friends, and they are indeed

 2-9     deserving of special recognition at this time; now, therefore, be

2-10     it

2-11           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

2-12     Legislature hereby honor Bob and Jane Kilcrease on the occasion of

2-13     their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them warmest best

2-14     wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further

2-15           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-16     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Kilcrease as an expression of high regard

2-17     by the Texas House of Representatives.
