R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor

 1-2     Will Ramsay for his many achievements and congratulate him on his

 1-3     graduation from Mount Vernon High School in May 1996; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, A member of the National Honor Society, Mr. Ramsay

 1-5     excelled in University Interscholastic League prose reading

 1-6     competition during his junior and senior years and successfully

 1-7     completed his school's advanced honors academic program to graduate

 1-8     near the top of his class; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, He effectively served his fellow students as

1-10     president of both his senior class and the student council, and he

1-11     balanced his many responsibilities with membership on several

1-12     athletic teams and other organizations, including the Mount Vernon

1-13     Student Chamber of Commerce, the Future Farmers of America, Peers

1-14     Achieving Without Substances, and the Fellowship of Christian

1-15     Athletes; and

1-16           WHEREAS, Mr. Ramsay received well-deserved recognition for

1-17     his outstanding leadership abilities and extensive talents when he

1-18     was selected to attend Boys State at The University of Texas at

1-19     Austin, where he served his fellow youths with integrity and

1-20     distinction as a precinct chair, delegate, and state senator; and

1-21           WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, he has been sustained by his

1-22     deep and abiding religious faith; an active member of the First

1-23     Baptist Church Youth Group, he has shared his devotion with

1-24     countless others as a Sunday school teacher, as a counselor for the

 2-1     junior high church retreat, and as a participant in the Disciple

 2-2     Now  Weekend; and

 2-3           WHEREAS, Will Ramsay has demonstrated exceptional

 2-4     intelligence, initiative, and maturity in successfully pursuing a

 2-5     variety of academic and civic goals, and he is indeed deserving of

 2-6     special legislative recognition for his many achievements; now,

 2-7     therefore, be it

 2-8           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-9     Legislature hereby congratulate Will Ramsay on his graduation from

2-10     Mount Vernon High School and extend to him warmest best wishes for

2-11     continued success and happiness in all his future endeavors; and,

2-12     be it further

2-13           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-14     prepared for Mr. Ramsay as an expression of high regard by the

2-15     Texas House of Representatives.
