R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 Kenley Bell for her many achievements and congratulate her on her 1-3 graduation from Dallas's Highland Park High School on May 25, 1996; 1-4 and 1-5 WHEREAS, A member of the National Art Honor Society, Ms. Bell 1-6 balanced the rigorous demands of her course load with membership in 1-7 several other organizations at her school and in the Dallas 1-8 community, including Thespians and the Fellowship of Christian 1-9 Athletes, for which she served as fund-raiser chairman in her 1-10 senior year; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Her exceptional artistic abilities have earned her 1-12 much acclaim, and she won contests both for drawing the cover of 1-13 the high school phone directory and for designing her class's 1-14 senior prom logo; and 1-15 WHEREAS, This remarkable young lady has been awarded several 1-16 scholarships to further her education, including the Highland Park 1-17 High School Alumni Scholarship, the Park Cities Dad's Club 1-18 Scholarship, the Ben Wiseman Scholarship, and the Baylor University 1-19 Art Scholarship, and she has also been listed in Who's Who of 1-20 American High School Students; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Kenley Bell has demonstrated exceptional 1-22 intelligence, initiative, and maturity in successfully pursuing a 1-23 variety of academic, career, and civic goals, and she is indeed 1-24 deserving of special legislative recognition for her remarkable 2-1 achievements; now, therefore, be it 2-2 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-3 Legislature hereby congratulate Kenley Bell on her graduation from 2-4 Highland Park High School and extend to her warmest best wishes for 2-5 continued success and happiness in all her future endeavors; and, 2-6 be it further 2-7 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-8 prepared for Ms. Bell as an expression of high regard by the Texas 2-9 House of Representatives.
