R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The members of Leadership Waxahachie will be in

 1-2     Austin on February 18, 1997, to visit the State Capitol, an

 1-3     occasion that affords the members of this chamber the opportunity

 1-4     to recognize this fine civic organization; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, Leadership Waxahachie is a program initiated by the

 1-6     Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce to enable various community leaders

 1-7     to learn more about their community, their state and local

 1-8     government, and their roles as leaders in business and industry;

 1-9     and

1-10           WHEREAS, The 1996 members of Leadership Waxahachie include

1-11     Candace Ahlfinger, Lacy Buckingham, Martha Fenton, Sharon Shawn,

1-12     Vivian Holubec, Dr. Charlie Osborn, Cindy Crowder, Kineta Halford,

1-13     Tony Spaniel, and Jeff Wallace, and the group's cochairmen are past

1-14     participants Melissa Morrison and Nick Hester; and

1-15           WHEREAS, The interest of these citizens in the operations of

1-16     state government, and, in particular, the legislative process,

1-17     merits special recognition, as this type of commitment forms the

1-18     very backbone of the democratic process; now, therefore, be it

1-19           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-20     Legislature hereby commend the members of Leadership Waxahachie for

1-21     their community involvement and extend to them a warm welcome on

1-22     the occasion of their visit to the State Capitol; and, be it

1-23     further

1-24           RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared

 2-1     for the members of Leadership Waxahachie as an expression of high

 2-2     regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
