No. 196 75R5980 JHS-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to 1-2 welcome students visiting the State Capitol today from Ellis 1-3 County's Palmer High School; and 1-4 WHEREAS, With the 75th Legislative Session underway, the 1-5 Capitol is abuzz with activity and offers these young people a 1-6 chance to see their state government functioning at its dynamic 1-7 best; these young citizens of Palmer will have the exciting 1-8 opportunity to witness both houses of the legislature as they 1-9 debate issues and pass bills that directly affect our state's 1-10 residents; and 1-11 WHEREAS, To aid in their study of Texas' storied history, 1-12 these government students will have the opportunity to avail 1-13 themselves of the Capitol's superb educational resources; the 1-14 outstanding collection of art and documentation housed in this 1-15 celebrated edifice provides an exceptional source of information 1-16 for those interested in the chronicles of this vast and varied 1-17 region; and 1-18 WHEREAS, The students participating in this excursion include 1-19 Kim Arnold, Melissa Brown, Kevin Byrd, Mario Castro, Arthur Costa, 1-20 Fernando Furtado, Danna Ivison, Josh McLerran, Emily Miller, 1-21 Jennifer Pruitt, Angela Wafer, Heather Welgand, Paul Williamson, 1-22 Steven Willms, Santos Diaz, Jason Lawson, Philip Spaniel, Travis 1-23 Brewer, Kathryn Bruning, Felipe Castillo, Javier Castillo, Keith 1-24 Frazier, Gulfredo Gomez, T. J. Greenlee, Chris Ivie, Seth Jones, 2-1 Vernon Kemp, Lucien Lacy, Bethany Larson, Michael Lawson, Virginia 2-2 Luker, Chad Mach, Brandy Reneau, Carl Schupback, Jeremy Adams, 2-3 Jennifer Leeds, Courtney Perez, Steven Becker, and Aaron Kreminski; 2-4 they will be accompanied by their teachers, Judy Miller and Butch 2-5 Spaeth, and Principal Gary Autrey; and 2-6 WHEREAS, The historic Capitol, with its impressive rotunda 2-7 and distinctive pink granite facade, is an ideal setting for young 2-8 and old alike to discover the rich heritage that is Texas and to 2-9 gain insight into the workings of our state legislature, and the 2-10 members of this chamber are pleased to commemorate this worthwhile 2-11 event; now, therefore, be it 2-12 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-13 Legislature hereby welcome the students of Palmer High School and 2-14 encourage them to continue in their quest toward achieving a better 2-15 understanding of the important role that our state government plays 2-16 in the lives of all Texans; and, be it further 2-17 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-18 prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the 2-19 Texas House of Representatives.
