R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to 1-2 welcome the sixth grade students visiting the State Capitol today 1-3 from Centerville Elementary School; and 1-4 WHEREAS, With the 75th Regular Legislative Session nearing 1-5 conclusion, the Capitol is abuzz with activity and offers these 1-6 young people a chance to see their state government functioning at 1-7 its dynamic best; in addition to touring the Capitol Complex, these 1-8 Leon County residents will view the Governor's Mansion and visit 1-9 the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library; and 1-10 WHEREAS, To aid in their study of Texas' exciting history, 1-11 this group of students will have the opportunity to avail 1-12 themselves of the Capitol Complex's superb educational resources; 1-13 the outstanding collection of art and documentation found within 1-14 the complex provides an exceptional source of information for those 1-15 interested in the chronicles of this vast and varied region; and 1-16 WHEREAS, The historic Capitol, with its impressive rotunda 1-17 and distinctive pink granite facade, is an ideal setting for young 1-18 and old alike to discover the rich heritage that is Texas and to 1-19 gain insight into the workings of our state legislature, and the 1-20 members of this chamber are pleased to commemorate this worthwhile 1-21 visit; now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 1-23 Legislature hereby welcome the sixth grade students of Centerville 1-24 Elementary School and encourage them to continue in their quest 2-1 toward achieving a better understanding of the important role that 2-2 our state government plays in the lives of all Texans; and, be it 2-3 further 2-4 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-5 prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the 2-6 Texas House of Representatives.
