R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The passing of Kathy Lou Kuykendall Bounds of San 1-2 Antonio on September 18, 1996, at the age of 39, has brought a 1-3 great loss to the family and many friends of this distinguished 1-4 Texan; and 1-5 WHEREAS, The daughter of Samuel and Ann Kuykendall, she was 1-6 born July 7, 1957, in Jackson, Mississippi, and was graduated from 1-7 Sam Houston State University in 1981; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Mrs. Bounds began her distinguished career with the 1-9 J.C. Penney Company in 1979; highly regarded for her 1-10 professionalism, hard work, and dedication, she served as service 1-11 corridor manager and shared her extensive knowledge and experience 1-12 with others as a trainer; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Despite her many professional obligations, she 1-14 consistently made the time in her busy schedule to work for the 1-15 betterment of her community, and the organizations that welcomed 1-16 her active participation include the San Antonio Rape Crisis 1-17 Center, the San Antonio Food Bank, and the March of Dimes; and 1-18 WHEREAS, During her lifetime, Kathy Bounds touched the lives 1-19 of many people, and though she is gone from us now, her memory will 1-20 surely endure in the hearts and minds of all who came to know and 1-21 love her; now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 1-23 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Kathy Lou Kuykendall 1-24 Bounds and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to 2-1 her beloved husband, Billy Bounds; to her daughter, Sara Elizabeth 2-2 Bounds; to her mother, Ann T. Kuykendall; to her brother, John 2-3 Michael Kuykendall; to her sister, Jennifer Lynn Kuykendall; and to 2-4 the many other friends and relatives of this remarkable woman; and, 2-5 be it further 2-6 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-7 prepared for the members of her family, and that when the Texas 2-8 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-9 Kathy Lou Kuykendall Bounds.
