R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The recent passing of Virginia Cox Obriotti on 1-2 February 13, 1997, has brought a great loss to the family and many 1-3 friends of this beloved woman; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Born in Martinsville, Indiana, this generous woman, 1-5 known affectionately as "Ginny," relocated to Texas during World 1-6 War II; she met Jake Obriotti while working at Fort Sam Houston and 1-7 married the love of her life soon thereafter; and 1-8 WHEREAS, An avid reader and a dedicated community volunteer, 1-9 this wonderful woman was a devoted wife and mother who was 1-10 cherished by her husband and children; during her lifetime, she 1-11 committed herself to the full-time encouragement and support of her 1-12 family and worked hard to make her home a place where all were 1-13 welcome; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Mrs. Obriotti was proud of her Irish heritage and 1-15 celebrated her ancestry each St. Patrick's Day with her best 1-16 friend, Kay Molak; her interests included gardening and horseback 1-17 riding, although these pursuits were mainly enjoyed during her 1-18 younger years; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Virginia Cox Obriotti was a woman of rare faith and 1-20 compassion whose affection for her family was well known in her 1-21 community, and though her guidance and devotion will be missed by 1-22 all who knew her, her spirit will certainly live on in the hearts 1-23 of the fortunate individuals whose lives she touched; now, 1-24 therefore, be it 2-1 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-2 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Virginia Cox Obriotti 2-3 and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her 2-4 sons and daughter-in-law, Jake Obriotti, Jr., and D. G. and Colleen 2-5 Goff; to her daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy Obriotti and her 2-6 husband, Paul Green, Susan and Jack Moravcik, Ginger and Larry 2-7 Walsh, and JoJo and Donald Tiller; to her grandchildren, Stacey and 2-8 Stephen Moravcik and Katherine and Victoria Walsh; and to the many 2-9 other relatives and friends of this esteemed woman; and, be it 2-10 further 2-11 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-12 prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas 2-13 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-14 Virginia Cox Obriotti.
