R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, Approximately 1,000 employees and agents of the

 1-2     Farmers Insurance Group will visit Austin to celebrate Farmers

 1-3     Insurance Group Day at the Capitol on March 5, 1997; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, The Farmers Insurance Group has made a name for

 1-5     itself by insuring the lives, homes, automobiles, and businesses of

 1-6     many Texas citizens; the group maintains regional offices

 1-7     throughout the state, from the mountains of the west to the piney

 1-8     woods of the east and all points in between; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, In addition to providing insurance and peace of mind

1-10     to more than a million Texans, the Farmers Insurance Group has

1-11     committed itself to stimulating economic development in the Lone

1-12     Star State; and

1-13           WHEREAS, This noteworthy organization employs more than 4,000

1-14     people in Texas and is a significant contributor to our state's

1-15     economy, and the group remains dedicated to fostering a climate

1-16     conducive to the practice of good business; this type of commitment

1-17     goes beyond the standard business relationship and serves to

1-18     benefit the entire state; and

1-19           WHEREAS, Participants in the Farmers Legislative Action Group

1-20     (FLAG) program will meet with their state representatives to

1-21     discuss the many vital issues that concern the insurance industry;

1-22     ventures such as this help to ensure that the voices of our

1-23     citizens are heard and stand as a testament to the principles of

1-24     the democratic process at work in our state government; now,

 2-1     therefore, be it

 2-2           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-3     Legislature hereby recognize March 5, 1997, as Farmers Insurance

 2-4     Group Day at the Capitol and welcome the members of the visiting

 2-5     delegation to Austin; and, be it further

 2-6           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-7     prepared for the Farmers Legislative Action Group as an expression

 2-8     of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
