R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes special 1-2 pleasure in honoring Reverend L. V. Adams for his outstanding 1-3 record of exemplary service and spiritual leadership as a minister 1-4 for the past 40 years; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Reverend Adams has served as minister of the Canaan 1-6 Missionary Baptist Church since April 1963, touching the lives of 1-7 many in his community; and 1-8 WHEREAS, He is a native Texan, having been born in Palestine, 1-9 Texas; and 1-10 WHEREAS, He served his country in the United States Army from 1-11 his induction in 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1954; and 1-12 WHEREAS, He studied at Gulf Coast Bible College, Southern 1-13 Bible College, Inter-Baptist Theological Seminary, and Mount Hope 1-14 Bible College; and 1-15 WHEREAS, His pastoral ministry began in 1957 at the New 1-16 Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where he served until 1963; and 1-17 WHEREAS, He has been a good husband to his wife, Earline Ford 1-18 Adams, for 40 years and a loving father to their three 1-19 children: Val Adams, Douglas Boyd, Jr., and Joscylan Lanier Adams; 1-20 and 1-21 WHEREAS, This exemplary pastor is truly an inspiration to all 1-22 Texans who are devoted to improving the quality of life in this 1-23 state, and his many significant achievements in this regard are 1-24 indeed worthy of special legislative recognition at this time; now, 2-1 therefore, be it 2-2 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-3 Legislature hereby commend the Reverend L. V. Adams on his 40 years 2-4 of distinguished service as a minister; and, be it further 2-5 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-6 prepared for Reverend Adams as an expression of highest regard by 2-7 the Texas House of Representatives.
