                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes special

 1-2     pleasure in honoring Reverend L. V. Adams for his outstanding

 1-3     record of exemplary service and spiritual leadership as a minister

 1-4     for the past 40 years; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, Reverend Adams has served as minister of the Canaan

 1-6     Missionary Baptist Church since April of 1963, touching the lives

 1-7     of many in his community; and

 1-8           WHEREAS, He is a native Texan having been born in Palestine,

 1-9     Texas; and

1-10           WHEREAS, He served his country in the United States Army from

1-11     his induction in 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1954; and

1-12           WHEREAS, He studied at Gulf Coast Bible College, Southern

1-13     Bible College, Inter-Baptist Theological Seminary, and Mount Hope

1-14     Bible College; and

1-15           WHEREAS, His pastoral ministry began at the New Bethel

1-16     Missionary Baptist Church in 1957 where he served until 1963; and

1-17           WHEREAS, He has been a good husband to his wife Earline Ford

1-18     Adams for forty years and a loving father to their three children;

1-19     Val Adams, Douglas Boyd, Jr., and Joscylan Lanier Adams; and

1-20           WHEREAS, This exemplary pastor is truly an inspiration to all

1-21     Texans who are devoted to improving the quality of life in this

 2-1     state, and his many significant achievements in this regard are

 2-2     indeed worthy of special legislative recognition at this time; now,

 2-3     therefore, be it

 2-4           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-5     Legislature hereby commend the Reverend L. V. Adams on his forty

 2-6     years of distinguished service as a minister; and, be it further

 2-7           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-8     prepared for Reverend Adams as an expression of highest regard by

 2-9     the Texas House of Representatives.
