R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Richard Ray Collett of Iraan 1-2 on December 26, 1995, at the age of 42, brought a great loss to the 1-3 many friends and relatives of this distinguished individual; and 1-4 WHEREAS, A native Texan, he was born to Dick and Edna Collett 1-5 on March 15, 1953, in Iraan; a third-generation member of this 1-6 community, Mr. Collett deepened his family's roots by settling 1-7 there with his beautiful wife Cathy to raise a family; together 1-8 they brought into this world two precious children who were the 1-9 light of his life; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Mr. Collett was employed for many years by Marathon 1-11 Oil Company; a dedicated and conscientious employee, he was highly 1-12 regarded by his colleagues, and his skills and contributions will 1-13 be greatly missed; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Mr. Collett will be fondly remembered as a devoted 1-15 husband, a loving father, and a loyal friend and neighbor; though 1-16 his special presence will be missed by all who knew him, his spirit 1-17 will surely live on in the hearts and minds of the many people 1-18 whose lives were touched by this fine gentleman; now, therefore, be 1-19 it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 1-21 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Richard Ray Collett 1-22 and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his 1-23 beloved wife, Cathy Collett; to his son, Cody Collett; to his 1-24 daughter, Kamie Collett; to his father and mother, W. L. "Dick" and 2-1 Edna Collett; to his grandmother, Patty Brooks; to his brother, 2-2 James Lee Collett; and to the many other relatives and friends of 2-3 this esteemed Texan; and, be it further 2-4 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-5 prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas 2-6 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-7 Richard Ray Collett.
