R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The passing of Louise Worley Booth on January 16,
1-2 1997, at the age of 68, has brought a great loss to the many
1-3 friends and relatives of this esteemed Dallas resident; and
1-4 WHEREAS, Born September 25, 1928, in Akron, Ohio, to James
1-5 and Mattie Jane Gibson Worley, she moved with her family to Dallas
1-6 in 1930 and was graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1947;
1-7 and
1-8 WHEREAS, She worked as a secretary for H. L. Hunt during much
1-9 of the 1950s and 1960s, and went on to become a customer service
1-10 representative for Republic National Bank, later holding a similar
1-11 position with TCI Cable; in each endeavor, she was a dedicated and
1-12 productive employee who was a joy to her many co-workers; and
1-13 WHEREAS, After her retirement, Mrs. Booth consistently gave
1-14 of her time and energy to those in need, serving as a caring
1-15 volunteer for patients stricken with cancer and other terminal
1-16 illnesses; and
1-17 WHEREAS, A person of deep and abiding religious conviction as
1-18 well, she shared her faith as an active member of the First Baptist
1-19 Church of Urbandale; and
1-20 WHEREAS, Louise Booth was a woman of rare compassion and
1-21 generosity; although her presence is gone from us now, her
1-22 remarkable spirit will surely live on in the hearts of the many
1-23 people whose lives she touched during her time on this earth; now,
1-24 therefore, be it
2-1 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas
2-2 Legislature hereby honor the life of Louise Worley Booth and extend
2-3 sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her son and
2-4 daughter-in-law, Danny and Gale Booth; to her two granddaughters
2-5 and their husbands, Angela and Mike Snodgrass and Crystal and Jeff
2-6 Traywick; to her great-grandson, Austin Michael Snodgrass; to her
2-7 brother and sister-in-law, James and Joann Worley; and to the many
2-8 other friends and relatives of this beloved woman; and, be it
2-9 further
2-10 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-11 prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas
2-12 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
2-13 Louise Worley Booth.
