R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Dolores Gamboa has served both his state and nation 1-2 with distinction as a member of the United States Armed Forces, and 1-3 this esteemed gentleman is indeed deserving of special legislative 1-4 praise and recognition; and 1-5 WHEREAS, A veteran of World War II, the Korean War, and the 1-6 Vietnam War, Mr. Gamboa's military career has taken him around the 1-7 world and back again as he has fought to stamp out oppression and 1-8 to defeat the enemies of freedom; although his many years of 1-9 service kept him away from home for lengthy periods, his presence 1-10 was always felt by his wife, Antonia, and his five children; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Mr. Gamboa has instilled in each of his children the 1-12 time-honored values of discipline, hard work, patriotism, and 1-13 community service; today, Juanita, Tonie, Ramiro, Javier, and Jerry 1-14 are all upstanding members of their respective communities and 1-15 reflect their father's determination and commitment to excellence 1-16 in their various pursuits; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Texas is deeply indebted to men like Dolores Gamboa, 1-18 whose service and sacrifice have helped to preserve essential 1-19 liberties for citizens of America and the world; now, therefore, be 1-20 it 1-21 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 1-22 Legislature hereby honor Dolores Gamboa for his lifetime of service 1-23 to the United States as a member of the United States Army and 1-24 extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and 2-1 happiness in the years to come; and, be it further 2-2 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-3 prepared for Mr. Gamboa as an expression of highest regard by the 2-4 Texas House of Representatives.
