                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans

 1-2     who have enjoyed 50 happy and rewarding years of marriage is indeed

 1-3     a joyous occasion worthy of special praise and recognition; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, Thomas and Soledad Gonzalez recently had the

 1-5     privilege of commemorating such a memorable event in their lives

 1-6     when they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on February

 1-7     28, 1997; and

 1-8           WHEREAS, Lifelong residents of El Paso, Mr. and Mrs. Gonzalez

 1-9     were married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in 1947, and they

1-10     currently live in the Cedar Grove Community of El Paso;

1-11     Mr. Gonzalez was self-employed for 40 years, while Mrs. Gonzalez

1-12     dedicated herself to providing a warm and supportive home life for

1-13     her family; and

1-14           WHEREAS, Their marriage has been richly blessed with seven

1-15     children, Manuel Gamez, Guadalupe Messer, Richard Gonzalez, Leticia

1-16     Perez, Yvonne Hebee, David Gonzalez, and Rolando Gonzalez, and in

1-17     recent years their loving family has grown to include 16 beloved

1-18     grandchildren; and

1-19           WHEREAS, For half a century, Mr. and Mrs. Gonzalez have

1-20     shared a warm and affectionate union filled with many happy times

1-21     and cherished family memories; built on a solid foundation of

1-22     mutual love, trust, and support, their marriage has been a source

1-23     of joy and inspiration to the family and many friends of this

1-24     fortunate pair; now, therefore, be it

 2-1           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-2     Legislature hereby congratulate Thomas and Soledad Gonzalez on the

 2-3     occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them

 2-4     warmest best wishes for continued happiness in the future; and, be

 2-5     it further

 2-6           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-7     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Gonzalez as an expression of high regard

 2-8     by the Texas House of Representatives.
