                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, March 16, 1997, marks the first anniversary of the

 1-2     passing of William Wesley "Wes" Frontz, and at this time it is

 1-3     appropriate that we honor the memory of this beloved young man; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, A native of Bay City, Mr. Frontz was an outstanding

 1-5     athlete and scholar at Bay City High School, maintaining a perfect

 1-6     4.0 grade point average while participating in a number of sports

 1-7     and extracurricular activities; a three-year letterman and

 1-8     cocaptain of the Black Cat football team, he was named All

 1-9     District, All Academic in his junior year and Second Team All

1-10     District in his senior year; and

1-11           WHEREAS, He was also a talented swimmer, and in his nine

1-12     years of competition, he set several state records, including the

1-13     1991 state record in the breast stroke; and

1-14           WHEREAS, Applying the same discipline and dedication to his

1-15     academic work as he did to his athletic endeavors, this commendable

1-16     young man excelled in his science and biology classes, earning his

1-17     school's science award in 1992; he also participated in the

1-18     Interact Club for three years, and he was selected to serve as the

1-19     organization's sergeant-at-arms during his senior year; and

1-20           WHEREAS, Those who were close to Wes Frontz could not help

1-21     but be affected by his outgoing and energetic spirit, and his

1-22     happiest hours were spent outdoors enjoying such active pursuits as

1-23     hunting, fishing, and water skiing; and

1-24           WHEREAS, For any parent, the death of a child is the greatest

 2-1     loss imaginable, and words seem inadequate to express the depth of

 2-2     our sorrow and sympathy; it is especially difficult to say good-bye

 2-3     to one so young and full of promise, but Wes Frontz's loved ones

 2-4     may take solace in the thought that his presence has not been

 2-5     forgotten, and his unique spirit will undoubtedly live on in the

 2-6     hearts of all who knew him; now, therefore, be it

 2-7           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-8     Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of William Wesley "Wes"

 2-9     Frontz and extend sincere sympathy to his parents, Bill and

2-10     Jeanette Frontz, and to all the friends and relatives of this

2-11     exceptional young man; and, be it further

2-12           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-13     prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas

2-14     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of

2-15     William Wesley Frontz.
