R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, For many years the Dallas community has benefitted 1-2 from the leadership and vision of Fred Conwright, and it is indeed 1-3 a pleasure to honor him at this time; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Mr. Conwright is highly regarded throughout the 1-5 business community as a co-owner of Two Podners Restaurant, which 1-6 was featured in the Dallas Observer as the site of the Best 1-7 Barbecue in Dallas in 1993; Mr. Conwright has been in the 1-8 restaurant business for 17 years and is currently the co-owner of 1-9 four area dining establishments with his partner, James Runnels; 1-10 and 1-11 WHEREAS, An esteemed member of the Restaurant Association, 1-12 Mr. Conwright has worked for the betterment of his community 1-13 through his service on the boards of the Dallas Black Chamber of 1-14 Commerce and the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce and on the 1-15 community boards of Bank One, NationsBank, and Guaranty Bank, and 1-16 he also serves as a deacon at Greater Mount Hebron Baptist Church; 1-17 and 1-18 WHEREAS, His remarkable commitment has brought him well 1-19 deserved acclaim, and he has been honored with numerous accolades, 1-20 including the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce's Quest for Success 1-21 Award, Connecticut Mutual Insurance's Blue Chip Award, and KKDA's 1-22 Great American Hero's Award; and 1-23 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Conwright has enjoyed the 1-24 love and support of his family, which includes his beloved wife, 2-1 Patricia Conwright, and the couple's three children, Fred Conwright 2-2 III, Sherika Conwright, and Shonda Stokley; and 2-3 WHEREAS, Fred Conwright has enhanced the quality of life in 2-4 Dallas in countless ways, and his exceptional commitment is a 2-5 source of inspiration to all who are privileged to know him; now, 2-6 therefore, be it 2-7 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-8 Legislature hereby commend Fred Conwright for his exemplary civic 2-9 and professional involvement and extend to him warmest best wishes 2-10 for continued success and happiness in all his future endeavors; 2-11 and, be it further 2-12 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-13 prepared for Mr. Conwright as an expression of high regard by the 2-14 Texas House of Representatives.
