R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The passing of Tommye Lynn Perkins on February 23,

 1-2     1997, at the age of 25, has brought a great loss to the many

 1-3     friends and relatives of this lovely young lady; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, The daughter of Tommie Lee and Mary Dunn Perkins,

 1-5     she was born August 21, 1971, in Houston; a lifelong resident of

 1-6     that city, Ms. Perkins was graduated from Ross Sterling High School

 1-7     and continued her education at Huston-Tillotson College in Austin;

 1-8     she will be fondly remembered as a devout Catholic and member of

 1-9     St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, where she gave generously of her

1-10     time, talents, and energies as a junior daughter; and

1-11           WHEREAS, Ms. Perkins was a valued employee of the University

1-12     of Houston, and her sincere fellowship, hard work, and gift of

1-13     laughter will be greatly missed by her many colleagues there; and

1-14           WHEREAS, During her lifetime, Tommye Lynn Perkins touched the

1-15     lives of many people; her warm and gentle nature made her dear to

1-16     all who  had the blessed fortune to know her, and though she is

1-17     gone from us now, her memory will long endure in our hearts and

1-18     minds; now, therefore, be it

1-19           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-20     Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Tommye Lynn Perkins

1-21     and extend sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the members of her

1-22     family: to her parents, Tommie Lee and Mary Dunn Perkins; to her

1-23     sisters, Nicole and Tiffany Perkins; to her grandparents, Mr. and

1-24     Mrs. Lonzo Dunn; and to her aunts and uncles, Norris and Boneath

 2-1     Perkins, Jessie M. McIntosch, Cynthia Dunn, and Gloria and Willie

 2-2     Tait; to her good friend, Mark Simpson; and to her many other

 2-3     special friends and relatives; and, be it further

 2-4           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-5     prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas

 2-6     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of

 2-7     Tommye Lynn Perkins.
