                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans

 1-2     who have shared 50 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a

 1-3     memorable occasion worthy of special recognition; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, John and Georgia Hasler of Lone Star had the

 1-5     privilege of commemorating such a momentous event in their lives

 1-6     when they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on February

 1-7     4, 1997, in the company of their family; the festivities held great

 1-8     significance for the Haslers because they marked the first time

 1-9     that the couple and all of their children were reunited as a group;

1-10     and

1-11           WHEREAS, Since they shared their wedding vows, the  Haslers

1-12     have nurtured an enduring relationship that has grown in love and

1-13     mutual respect with each passing year, and they have enriched not

1-14     only their own lives, but the lives of those around them with their

1-15     devotion to each other; and

1-16           WHEREAS, The couple are the proud parents of 11 children:

1-17     Lynette Franks O'Conor, Marion Franks Hudspeth, Mary Angela Hasler,

1-18     Kathy Hasler Mitchell, Khris Hasler McTyre, Clara Hasler Baxter,

1-19     Greg Franks, John Hasler, Mike Hasler, Larry Hasler, and Tony

1-20     Hasler, and they have also welcomed the addition of 32

1-21     grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren into the family fold; and

1-22           WHEREAS, Mr. Hasler is retired from his career as a

1-23     brickmason with Lone Star Steel, while his lovely and gracious wife

1-24     has devoted herself to providing a happy and secure home life for

 2-1     the family throughout their marriage; and

 2-2           WHEREAS, Now enjoying the many benefits of retirement

 2-3     together, the Haslers find they have more time to pursue their

 2-4     favorite pastimes, which include travelling and country-western

 2-5     dancing; and

 2-6           WHEREAS, For a half-century, John and Georgia Hasler have

 2-7     shared a warm and affectionate union filled with many happy times

 2-8     and cherished family memories; built on a solid foundation of

 2-9     mutual love, trust, and support, their marriage has been a source

2-10     of joy and inspiration to the many friends and family of this

2-11     fortunate pair; now, therefore, be it

2-12           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

2-13     Legislature hereby congratulate John and Georgia Hasler on the

2-14     occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them

2-15     warmest best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further

2-16           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-17     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Hasler as an expression of high regard by

2-18     the Texas House of Representatives.
