                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, During his 40 years in the Christian ministry, the

 1-2     Reverend Dr. Lowell C. Howard has faithfully served the spiritual

 1-3     needs of his community, and his compassionate regard for the

 1-4     welfare of others has touched the lives of many people; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, He began preaching the gospel in 1957, and he

 1-6     offered support and religious guidance to congregations in Texas

 1-7     and Louisiana before becoming pastor at Bells Antioch Baptist

 1-8     Church in 1990, in which capacity he faithfully ministers today;

 1-9     and

1-10           WHEREAS, An ardent and dynamic servant of the Lord, Dr.

1-11     Howard has also shared his devotion with others as an evangelist,

1-12     Christian singer, counselor, writer, and humorist, and by doing so,

1-13     he has helped many people to center their lives around Jesus

1-14     Christ; and

1-15           WHEREAS, Dr. Howard is the husband of Margaret Howard and the

1-16     proud father of three children; in recent years, the Howards have

1-17     welcomed the addition of nine grandchildren into their close-knit

1-18     family; and

1-19           WHEREAS, In Dr. Howard, the church has found both a teacher

1-20     and a stalwart friend for the work of the ministry; his guidance

1-21     has provided comfort and spiritual strength to countless

1-22     individuals, and he is indeed worthy of our highest praise and

1-23     recognition at this time; now, therefore, be it

1-24           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-1     Legislature hereby commend the Reverend Dr. Lowell C. Howard for

 2-2     his outstanding service to the Southern Baptist Church and to the

 2-3     Bells community and extend to him warmest best wishes for continued

 2-4     success and happiness in the future; and, be it further

 2-5           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-6     prepared for Dr. Howard as an expression of high regard by the

 2-7     Texas House of Representatives.
