R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, March 29, 1997, marks the commencement exercises of 1-2 Project LEAP, and the notable Texans that comprise this graduating 1-3 class are indeed worthy of special praise and recognition at this 1-4 time; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Project LEAP is a program designed to enhance the 1-6 planning and leadership abilities of persons living with HIV and 1-7 AIDS, and the current class, administered under the auspices of 1-8 AIDS Foundation Houston, is the third in this successful series; 1-9 and 1-10 WHEREAS, Through their participation in Project LEAP, 1-11 graduates become more effective advocates and organizers, and they 1-12 will lend their newly developed skills to community planning 1-13 groups, boards of directors, and other groups, to the benefit of 1-14 countless consumers of HIV-related services; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Project LEAP has already made an enormous difference 1-16 in the lives of its participants, as well as in the lives of the 1-17 many people who have benefited from the students' training, and the 1-18 members of the current class can take pride and satisfaction in 1-19 this accomplishment as they look forward to using their newfound 1-20 knowledge to effect a positive impact on the world around them; 1-21 now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 1-23 Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the graduating class 1-24 of Project LEAP and extend to them sincere best wishes for success 2-1 in the future.
