                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The passing of Corinne Farmer on January 15, 1996,

 1-2     at the age of 81, brought a great loss to the family and many

 1-3     friends of this beloved woman; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, Mrs. Farmer was born November 10, 1914, in Mansfield

 1-5     and was descended from Tom Loyd, one of Tarrant County's early

 1-6     settlers; she wed Earl Dean Farmer, and the couple treasured the

 1-7     time they shared until his passing; and

 1-8           WHEREAS, Throughout the years, Mrs. Farmer devoted herself to

 1-9     providing a warm and secure home life for their family, and her

1-10     commitment to her husband, children, grandchildren, and

1-11     great-grandchildren was a source of inspiration to many people; and

1-12           WHEREAS, This remarkable woman was also active in the

1-13     political process, and she encouraged her many friends and

1-14     neighbors to vote in elections at all levels; in all her endeavors,

1-15     she was sustained by her abiding faith as a member of Wautaga

1-16     Baptist Church; and

1-17           WHEREAS, During her lifetime, Corinne Farmer touched the

1-18     lives of many people, and though she is gone from us now, her

1-19     memory will long endure in the hearts and minds of all who came to

1-20     know and love her; now, therefore, be it

1-21           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-22     Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Corinne Farmer and

1-23     extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her sons,

1-24     Ray Farmer and Billy Farmer; to her daughters, Nell Oldham and

 2-1     Amanda Mobley; to her brother, Clinton Pinyan; to her grandchildren

 2-2     and great-grandchildren; and to the many other friends and

 2-3     relatives of this fine lady; and, be it further

 2-4           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-5     prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas

 2-6     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of

 2-7     Corinne Farmer.
