                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The Capitol Scholars program is widely acclaimed for

 1-2     its considerable success in developing leadership and promoting

 1-3     good citizenship and independent thought; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, A group of students from this esteemed organization

 1-5     will meet in Austin on July 16-18, 1997, to conduct a mock

 1-6     legislature, and this important exercise will acquaint its

 1-7     participants with many aspects of legislative procedure; and

 1-8           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives heartily endorses

 1-9     the goals and ideals of the Capitol Scholars program; now,

1-10     therefore, be it

1-11           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-12     Legislature, in accordance with house rules and the policies and

1-13     procedures of the House Administration Committee, hereby grant the

1-14     Capitol Scholars program permission to use the house chamber  in

1-15     the State Capitol on July 18, 1997, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., provided

1-16     that the house of representatives is not in session on that date.
