R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, On March 2, 1997, Lacy Headrick celebrated his 90th 1-2 birthday, and for his family and many delighted friends, this was 1-3 indeed a joyous and memorable occasion; and 1-4 WHEREAS, A native of Lafayette, Tennessee, he was born in 1-5 1907 to William Franklin and Rachael Luann Smith Headrick and was 1-6 one of 10 children in the close-knit Headrick family; and 1-7 WHEREAS, He took as his bride the former Florene Rucker, at a 1-8 ceremony held on July 6, 1935, in Throckmorton, Texas, and the 1-9 couple enjoyed a loving and harmonious marriage until her passing 1-10 in 1979; their union was blessed with two daughters, and 1-11 Mr. Headrick takes special pleasure in spending time with his 1-12 children, five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Mr. Headrick is a man of boundless energy, 1-14 enthusiasm, and love of hard work, and during his years as an 1-15 employee at the Santa Fe Railroad and Texaco he set standards of 1-16 accomplishment to which all his fellow workers could aspire; and 1-17 WHEREAS, A deeply religious man, he shares his faith as an 1-18 active member of the Knox City Baptist Church, where he is also a 1-19 member of the choir; and 1-20 WHEREAS, This remarkable Texan is a source of inspiration and 1-21 happiness to his many relatives and friends; his spirit and 1-22 determination immeasurably brighten the lives of those who are 1-23 privileged to know him, and he is indeed worthy of special 1-24 legislative recognition at this time; now, therefore, be it 2-1 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-2 Legislature hereby congratulate Lacy Headrick on the occasion of 2-3 his 90th birthday and extend sincere best wishes for many more 2-4 happy and rewarding years; and, be it further 2-5 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-6 prepared for Lacy Headrick as an expression of high regard by the 2-7 Texas House of Representatives.
