No. 513 75R9450 JTR-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Ruby Fosha Archield has throughout her life 1-2 committed herself to the betterment of her community, and it is 1-3 indeed appropriate to note her many contributions at this time; and 1-4 WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mrs. Archield settled in San Antonio 1-5 in 1963, and since that time she has distinguished herself as a 1-6 dedicated churchwoman, a valued colleague, and a devoted wife and 1-7 mother; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Married to the Reverend Ruben Archield for 47 1-9 years, this dynamic Texan is an example and inspiration to the 1-10 congregation at Friendship Baptist Church, and she has served this 1-11 community of worship in a number of capacities, including as 1-12 president of the Ministers' and Deacons' Wives' Auxiliary; she has 1-13 also lent her time and energy to Bible classes, prayer meetings, 1-14 and leadership service to the General Mission; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Mrs. Archield studied music under a number of 1-16 notable instructors, and she has utilized her musical gifts in the 1-17 service of the Lord through her participation in the church's 1-18 choir; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Despite her many accomplishments, Mrs. Archield's 1-20 greatest joy and satisfaction have come from her loving, close-knit 1-21 family, and she and Reverend Archield take great pride in their 1-22 sons, the Reverend Ruben L. Archield, Jr., the Reverend Paul Joseph 1-23 Archield, and Major John Milton Archield, and their families; and 1-24 WHEREAS, Ruby Fosha Archield's warm manner and serene 2-1 presence have brightened the lives of all those fortunate enough to 2-2 know her, and we take great pleasure at this time in recognizing 2-3 her for her many achievements; now, therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-5 Legislature hereby honor Ruby Fosha Archield for her lifetime of 2-6 service to her community and extend to her sincere best wishes for 2-7 continued success and happiness in the future; and, be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-9 prepared for Mrs. Archield as an expression of high regard by the 2-10 Texas House of Representatives.
