                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The Tyler Association of Life Underwriters will host

 1-2     its 10th Annual Special Wish Golf Tournament on April 7, 1997, and

 1-3     this event is indeed deserving of special legislative recognition;

 1-4     and

 1-5           WHEREAS, Established in 1988 as a means of providing an

 1-6     annual wish to a terminally ill or permanently disabled child, the

 1-7     Special Wish Golf Tournament has become an institution in the Tyler

 1-8     community; the inaugural tournament was held at Hollytree Country

 1-9     Club, and this year's event will take place at beautiful Willow

1-10     Brook Country Club; and

1-11           WHEREAS, In 1995, due to the great success of the tournament,

1-12     organizers decided to select two children to receive a wish at the

1-13     conclusion of the annual event; since the tournament's inception,

1-14     11 children have seen their wishes come true, with most choosing to

1-15     travel to Disney World or Six Flags Over Texas; and

1-16           WHEREAS, In addition to providing joy for these courageous

1-17     young people, the Special Wish Golf Tournament adds to the feeling

1-18     of community spirit among the citizens of Tyler, and the members of

1-19     this chamber are proud to recognize the generosity and compassion

1-20     associated with this event and its participants; now, therefore, be

1-21     it

1-22           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-23     Legislature hereby commend the organizers and participants of the

1-24     10th Annual Special Wish Golf Tournament and express heartfelt

 2-1     support for this worthy endeaver; and, be it further

 2-2           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-3     prepared for the Tyler Association of Life Underwriters as an

 2-4     expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
