R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives joins the

 1-2     citizens of Marble Falls in mourning the loss of prominent citizen

 1-3     Eddie Ray Easter, Sr., who died on February 24, 1997, at the age of

 1-4     66; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, Born June 7, 1930, in Pecos, Texas, he was the son

 1-6     of Leroy and Olive Lela Easter; and

 1-7           WHEREAS, A longtime resident of Marble Falls, Mr. Easter and

 1-8     his family lived there for more than 20 years; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, Eddie Ray greatly enjoyed his profession as an

1-10     automobile mechanic, and he was known throughout his community as a

1-11     tradesman with integrity and ability; and

1-12           WHEREAS, An exemplary and distinguished gentleman, Mr. Easter

1-13     was respected for his many accomplishments; and

1-14           WHEREAS, A man of honesty, courage, and generosity, he gave

1-15     unselfishly of his time to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and

1-16     valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and

1-17           WHEREAS, Eddie Ray Easter was a devoted husband and father,

1-18     as well as a staunch friend, and his wise counsel and sound

1-19     judgment will be remembered with gratitude by the loved ones and

1-20     friends who sought his advice and friendship; and

1-21           WHEREAS, Mr. Easter leaves a legacy of compassion and

1-22     commitment that will be remembered with gratitude by all who knew

1-23     and loved him; now, therefore, be it

1-24           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

 2-1     Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Eddie Ray Easter,

 2-2     Sr., and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family:

 2-3     to his wife, Loice B. Easter; to his daughters and sons-in-law,

 2-4     Lela and Robert Haney, and Edna and Jeff Kelbly; and to all the

 2-5     friends and relatives of this fine man; and, be it further

 2-6           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-7     prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas

 2-8     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of

 2-9     Eddie Ray Easter, Sr.
