R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans
1-2 who have shared 50 happy and rewarding years of marriage is indeed
1-3 an occasion worthy of special praise and recognition; and
1-4 WHEREAS, Jack and Dottie Sue Rollins of Sherman had the
1-5 privilege of commemorating such a memorable event when they
1-6 celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on February 15, 1997;
1-7 the couple were joined in observing this special day by family and
1-8 friends at a reception hosted by their daughters and sons-in-law,
1-9 Mr. and Mrs. Gene Clay and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Poet; and
1-10 WHEREAS, A former employee of Burlington Industries and the
1-11 Fant Milling Company, Mr. Rollins was born in the Farmington
1-12 community and attended school in Anna; Mrs. Rollins is a native of
1-13 Southmayd who, in addition to being a thoughtful and caring
1-14 homemaker, was previously employed by Wackers and TGY variety
1-15 stores; and
1-16 WHEREAS, The Rollinses have been blessed with four
1-17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild and their immeasurable joy
1-18 in their extended family is truly a sight to behold; now deservedly
1-19 reaping the many benefits of a full life together, this exemplary
1-20 pair remain active members of Loving Baptist Church; and
1-21 WHEREAS, For half a century, Jack and Dottie Sue Rollins have
1-22 shared a union built on love and honor that has yielded many
1-23 cherished family memories; their marriage is a source of pride and
1-24 inspiration to their family and friends, and it is fitting that
2-1 they be honored at this time; now, therefore, be it
2-2 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas
2-3 Legislature hereby congratulate Jack and Dottie Sue Rollins on the
2-4 occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them
2-5 sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness in the
2-6 years to come; and, be it further
2-7 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-8 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Rollins as an expression of high regard
2-9 by the Texas House of Representatives.
