R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The golden wedding anniversary of two notable Texans

 1-2     is indeed an event worthy of special praise and recognition, and on

 1-3     February 28, 1997, Glenn and Mary Catherine Weidner celebrated this

 1-4     auspicious occasion; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, Joined in matrimony on February 28, 1947, at the

 1-6     Peak and Eastside Church of Christ in Dallas, Mr. and Mrs. Weidner

 1-7     have through the years been blessed with a large and loving family,

 1-8     and they take great pride and pleasure in their five children and

 1-9     12 grandchildren; and

1-10           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Weidner are vital and valued members of

1-11     the community who have brightened the lives of their friends and

1-12     neighbors; until his retirement Mr. Weidner worked as an

1-13     electrician, and he and Mrs. Weidner together owned and operated an

1-14     antique store in Gordonville; and

1-15           WHEREAS, Throughout the trials and triumphs of half a

1-16     century, Glenn and Mary Catherine Weidner have enjoyed a

1-17     relationship that has continued to grow in mutual regard and

1-18     admiration, and they may look back on their life together with

1-19     pride and satisfaction; now, therefore, be it

1-20           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-21     Legislature hereby honor Glenn and Mary Catherine Weidner on the

1-22     occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them

1-23     sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness in the

1-24     future; and, be it further

 2-1           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-2     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Weidner as an expression of high regard

 2-3     by the Texas House of Representatives.
