No. 546 75R5267 BNL-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The passing of James Thomas "Tom" Bolling of La Ward 1-2 on December 19, 1995, at the age of 61, brought a great loss to the 1-3 family and many friends of this distinguished Texan; and 1-4 WHEREAS, A native of Bay City, he was born March 27, 1934, 1-5 and he dedicated much of his life to the service of his fellow 1-6 Texans; and 1-7 WHEREAS, Mr. Bolling was a respected board member of both the 1-8 City State Bank of Palacios and the Matagorda County Fair 1-9 Association, and he brought to both positions the integrity, 1-10 dedication, and professionalism that were the hallmarks of his 1-11 career; he was also an Honorary Chapter Farmer of the Palacios 1-12 Future Farmers of America and an Honorary State Farmer of the Texas 1-13 Future Farmers of America, and both of these organizations were 1-14 indebted to him for his outstanding service; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Throughout all his endeavors, Mr. Bolling was 1-16 sustained by a deep and abiding religious faith; a longtime member 1-17 of the First Presbyterian Church of Palacios, he served his fellow 1-18 congregants as an elder, deacon, and Sunday school teacher, and he 1-19 drew great spiritual strength and inspiration from his ongoing 1-20 commitment to the church; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Tom Bolling is remembered as a dedicated leader of 1-22 his community, a devoted husband, and a loving father, and although 1-23 his presence has been deeply missed, his unique spirit lives on in 1-24 the hearts of all those who were fortunate to know him; now, 2-1 therefore, be it 2-2 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-3 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of James Thomas "Tom" 2-4 Bolling and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: 2-5 to his beloved wife, Barbara Tafolla Bolling; to his daughters, 2-6 Lucile Wyatt and Susan Kopacz; to his parents, D. R. "Dave" and 2-7 Lucille Bolling; to his sister, Helen Bolling; to his brothers, 2-8 Richard "Dick" Bolling and David Bolling; to his granddaughter, 2-9 Kimberley Wyatt; and to all the relatives and many friends of this 2-10 esteemed gentleman; and, be it further 2-11 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-12 prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas 2-13 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-14 James Thomas "Tom" Bolling.
