R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The passing of Helen Elster Stuhrenberg on March 5,

 1-2     1997, at the age of 76, has brought a great loss to the family and

 1-3     many friends of this esteemed Palacios resident; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, Born October 11, 1920, in Moulton to August and

 1-5     Augusta Elster, she wed Edwin Stuhrenberg, and devoted herself to

 1-6     providing a  warm and secure home life for her family; her love and

 1-7     commitment served as a source of inspiration to many people; and

 1-8           WHEREAS, She supported her children in their endeavors

 1-9     through her involvement with the 4-H club and was honored for her

1-10     stalwart commitment as an Outstanding Adult Leader; active in the

1-11     Agricultural Extension Service's Homemaker's Club as well, she was

1-12     recently honored for 55 years of exceptional service and was named

1-13     the Extension Homemaker of the Year in 1992; and

1-14           WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, she was sustained by an

1-15     abiding faith as a devout member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church,

1-16     and she shared her belief with countless others through her work

1-17     with Catholic Daughters; and

1-18           WHEREAS, During her lifetime, Helen Stuhrenberg touched the

1-19     lives of many people, and though her presence will be deeply

1-20     missed, her memory will surely endure in the hearts and minds of

1-21     all who came to know and love her; now, therefore, be it

1-22           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-23     Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Helen Elster

1-24     Stuhrenberg and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her

 2-1     family: to her sons and daughters-in-law, W. A. "Bill" and Gerry

 2-2     Stuhrenberg and Marvin and Joan Stuhrenberg; to her daughters and

 2-3     sons-in-law, Linda and Craig Wallis and Teresa and Jim Adams; to

 2-4     her sister, Angelina Baugh; to her brother, Melvin Elster; to her

 2-5     grandchildren, Stephen and Michele Stuhrenberg, Stacey and Rick

 2-6     Cegielski, Jamie Grant Stuhrenberg, Julie Stuhrenberg, Jennie

 2-7     Stuhrenberg, Kyle and Courtney Wallis, and Laney and Carly Adams;

 2-8     to her great-grandchildren, Jarred Stuhrenberg and Paige

 2-9     Stuhrenberg; and to her many other friends and relatives; and, be

2-10     it further

2-11           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

2-12     prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas

2-13     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of

2-14     Helen Elster Stuhrenberg.
