R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The passing of Marta Wolff Moore of Bay City on

 1-2     January 18, 1996, at the age of 74, brought a great loss to the

 1-3     family and many friends of this remarkable lady; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, She was born to Dr. Sylvan Wolff and Jane Borkowska

 1-5     Wolff on November 11, 1921, in Opelousas, Louisiana; she wed Dolph

 1-6     Beadle Moore on February 16, 1940, and the couple enjoyed a happy

 1-7     and rewarding marriage that spanned nearly 56 years; and

 1-8           WHEREAS, Mrs. Moore will be fondly remembered as a devoted

 1-9     wife, mother, and grandmother whose unconditional love and support

1-10     guided her family throughout all their endeavors and served as a

1-11     constant source of inspiration to those around her; and

1-12           WHEREAS, She was well known in political circles for her

1-13     outstanding tenure as the first president of The Democratic Women's

1-14     Club of Smith County and continued to give generously of her time

1-15     and talents to assist the Mother Frances Auxiliary in Tyler, as

1-16     well as several other community organizations; and

1-17           WHEREAS, During her lifetime, Marta Moore touched the lives

1-18     of many people, and though she is gone from us now, her memory will

1-19     long endure in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved her;

1-20     now, therefore, be it

1-21           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-22     Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Marta Wolff Moore and

1-23     extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her

1-24     beloved husband, Dolph Beadle Moore; to her daughter and

 2-1     son-in-law, Elizabeth Norwood and Paul Norwood; to her son and

 2-2     daughter-in-law, Beadle Moore and Blanche Moore; to her sisters,

 2-3     Constance Erlanger and Rebecca Jane Manonwrier; to her

 2-4     grandchildren, Paul Norwood and his wife, Cecelia Norwood, and

 2-5     Sally Norwood Blecher and her husband, Daniel Blecher; and to her

 2-6     many other friends and relatives; and, be it further

 2-7           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-8     prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas

 2-9     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of

2-10     Marta Wolff Moore.
